The Castle is a recording studio in Franklin, Tennessee. The Scorchers recorded "A Blazing Grace" there, and Warner Hodges helped them remodel their studio a few years back. Engineer Mike Janas has helped the Scorchers on many of their productions, from their live shows to the recent mastering of Wildfires and Misfires.

Here's the official site for Praxis Records, the independent label that released "Fervor" in 1983.
Jack Emerson, who was the manager of the Scorchers through the eighties, founded Praxis. The intro to this site has a nice flash animation, with the sounds of Warner's spurs from the "White Lies" video and then the Scorchers doing "Greetings From Nashville".

Links/Vendors

One of the most frequent question we receive here at the official site is "How can I get some (out-of-
print) Scorchers CD's?" Well, here are some links to follow, in declining order of importance.

The best place to start is on Ebay. Follow the link below, and conduct a search for "jason scorchers.
" This should net you ten to twenty items for sale. If you don't have an account and a User ID, follow
the instructions, search each week, and get in there and bid.

Here's my approximation of what each of the OOP Scorchers CD's are going for:
Still Standing ('86)  $50
Thunder and Fire ('89)  $12
Essential Vol. One ('92)  $24
Both Sides of the Line ('96)  $23
A Blazing Grace ('95)  $10
Midnight Roads and Stages Seen ('98)  $12

Gemm.com is an extensive European-based site that serves as a 'meeting place' for several hundred
vendors to advertise. The way this works is as follows. You register with Gemm.com, including giving a credit card (unlike Ebay), and then you pick out what you want. Gemm forwards your request to the vendor and collects a commission. (Sometimes a vendor will want you to register with them directly.) This is a very good site if you find a domestic vendor that has a high fulfillment rating (four or five stars) and good prices.
To do a thorough Scorchers search, you need to search twice: for "Jason & the Scorchers" and "Jason
and the Scorchers."

CD Now, one of the largest and most efficient online music stores, is currently selling only "Rock On
Germany," "Clear Impetuous Morning," and Jason's 2000 solo record "A Pocketful of Soul."

/discography.html/ArtistID=JASON+&+THE+SCORCHERS

Miles of Music is a good site to get "A Pocketful of Soul," and they might sell "Rock on Germany."

Here's another vendor. I think this one is out in Oregon. You might have to scroll down the page to
find the Scorchers section.

Second Spin is a very good used CD site based in Colorado:
